The security which it provides to the applications
There is nothing to say at this moment as we will have pros and cons in all of them they should make it much negotiable with price
We use this for the networking security and work related dns configs and covers other security aspects
Honeslty the ability to use SSL certificates on all my sites in one place for absolutely no cost.
I dislike the payment plans as their a bit pricey.
Encrypting my websites, benefits I realized are that my websites visitors now see a secure site when browsing.
CloudFlare has really helped me optimize our internal processes and made the whole company more efficient.
So far so good, would like to see some updates to it every now and then.
We are solving our efficiency and transparency problems.
I love the ease of use of this service - easy to set up, easy to configure, clear information about what each function performs. Love the speed and caching, the free SSL and security functions.
I wish it offered more in the free plan, in terms of page rules and the firewall.
We've deployed CloudFlare on most of our websites so far and we're very happy with the protection is offers, the caching and speed improvements on our websites - caching static content, minifying, etc.
I like the loading page when it shows DDOS protection in in the works.
I honestly do not dislike anything about cloudfare
To keep my website safe from hackers
CloudFlare is the most reliable CDN and reverse proxy out there. It’s to the point where once you’re up and running with CloudFlare, it becomes invisible.
Not much honestly! Just solid tools all around and they keep getting better.
Site speed, offsite redundancy, protection against attacks. Is that enough? 🙃🙃🙃
The great thing about cloudflare's ddos service is that it does not require you to purchase or install hardware or software. When you purchase the plan, simply change the DNS to reroute traffic through CloudFlare’s servers.
They don't offer you a free trial for the ddos service so that you can't give it a try before purchasing it.
The service is capable of handling large scale ddos attacks. Operating only on the cloud, you can activate the service immediately for ddos protection.
Their protection against two of the most dangerous attacks: ddos and SQL injection. They also got many tutorials and material that helps me to get ready securing my website from attackers.
Sometimes it affects my SEO and website ranking but it's better than letting my website get attacked.
Before cloudflare's ddos protection, my website went down almost twice a month. Also with my clients they were getting heavier attacks than me and it was a mess. But fortunately after using it, things changed dramatically.
Love, - everything - support is great! Just works and was easy to implement.
Nothing is awesome! Did have a few issues integrating with wordpress.com but other than it everything was super easy.
add SSL to my sites prior to Google putting up the secure/non secure information when people navigate to a site (I think this as Aug/Sep 2017)
It caches our website site without having to go through complicated configurations and technical jargon. CloudFlare will cache static content such as images, CSS, and other files for our site automatically.
It would be great there was an option for DNS templates. So when you have a website with a lot of custom dns records if you could copy it would be even better.
We use it as firewall and caching system
That's it's a free DNS service that also protects my domains from downtime and attacks.
Nothing really. The mobile interface could be improved.
i'm able to better secure my content and use 50% less server load.
The kind of applications you have to build or support nowadays have to be designed to be highly scalable. When it comes the time to improve the performance of any app that loads lots of assets such as scripts, css files, images, etc. you have to think on a way to reduce the stress on your hosting / vps / web server. The best way to achieve that is to cache all the files that won't be changing or that are less likely to change through time and let those be loaded from another place. CloudFlare is the perfect solution to do this since it's easy to use, and you need no advanced knowledge or any complicated setup than doing some DNS changes in your hosting.
Caching is good, but if you don't clear the cache after you do some changes and if you don't push those changes again to the CDN you will have a lot of headaches. Some time ago clearing the CloudFlare cache didn't use to do the trick right away and you had to way even hours to see the changes reflected, but they are getting better in solving that.
Scalability. If you want to reduce the stress on your hosting you have to cache all the assets you can in a CDN so those are not loaded at the same time as your app / web site, but from a third party location.
Cloudflare is an excellent CDN. There are varying degrees of speed and optimization with highly caching. It's important to know that content delivery is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to what Cloudflare can do. Even under the free tier, you get access to a variety of tools and services all designed to protect, optimize, and track information related to your infrastructure. For example, Cloudflare captures some basic analytics data, and although the data is not nearly as comprehensive as something like Google Analytics, it tracks security data which you can't easily gather elsewhere. This security data gives users a better idea of the number and type of threats that their infrastructure faces. Other noteworthy offerings are free SSL support and advanced DNS configuration options like CNAME flattening. The account dashboard is well-designed and makes managing the different options relatively straightforward. There's also a great deal of support via the knowledgebase for those needing help with DNS configuration.
There are some features and bugs that haven't been fully worked out yet. (1) The "Rocket Loader" feature can cause more harm that good. If you don't know what you're doing, or if you're worried about breaking your site, it's better to err on the side of caution and avoid it. (2) Cloudflare supports websockets, but there are issues with SSL support over socket connections. It sounds like there may be better support at the Enterprise pricing tier, but It's probably best to avoid their free SSL if you need seamless websocket support.
I have used Cloudflare to speed up content delivery and quickly secure sites over TLS. It makes managing and configuring DNS fast and straightforward.
I own a small agency and I manage around 40-50 websites through Cloudflare. Imagine you'd have to deal with different control panels on all those websites to make a simple change to a DNS record. I use Cloudflare as a nameserver on all my client domains, so I know I can manage the DNS in a single control panel. Works beautifully.
The pricing starts a bit high, but they do offer a free tier, which has been sufficient for all my clients to date.
I no longer have to deal with different control panels to do the same thing on a domain (which is manage DNS records). By using cloudflare as the nameserver of the domain, all the DNS records are in 1 place, saving my huge amounts of time & effort.
I have used Cloudflare for several years and have always recommended them to clients. They have a top notch UI and a very intuitive workflow for getting setup.
Occasionally it can be difficult to find the documentation for what you might be trying to do, but I think this has been a product of Cloudflare continually adding new features.
We have used Cloudflare for everything from better DNS management to security/firewall to serving of site assets on an enterprise-scale website for a global non-profit. It has increased our productivity and website response times since using Cloudflare.
The panel to configure DNS is great, way simpler and nicer to use than any other I've tried, is really convenient and easy to use, even in the free version there are a lot of good features to take advantage of.
There are options to minify javascript and CSS assets, I had some issues with it in the past where it activated automatically and broke our code. Is a good feature but be careful with it.
It helps us save money on servers, and increases the performance of our websites.
HTTPS support, caching and analytics all easy to access and use.
I haven't had any issues. Early on there was some handshake issues with a Virtual Host I used but much of that has been cleaned up.
HTTPS, caching and routing. AWS CloudFront was expensive, and self signed certificates don't work well. Cloudflare is a great one stop shop. I'm even using more of the analytics since Google Analytics is plagued with fake hits.
Cloudflare provides one of the best edge caching networks currently available at price tiers for both individuals looking to reduce their monthly hosting costs and for companies looking to make their web applications faster. Additionally, Cloudflare provides free TLS certificates for use with your site.
Cloudflare is effectively a performing one of the largest MITM attacks in the history of the internet. My primary concern with Cloudflare is that if they so choose to, or were compelled to, they could retrieve huge amounts of sensitive data from their customers, including passwords and other form data. While I highly recommend using Cloudflare for static assets, the fact that Cloudflare can intercept sensitive information is worrying.
Bandwidth reduction, free TLS certificates, performance enhancements with edge caching static assets closer to our customers.
