ButterCMS's ability to allow us to design our own content type structures with ease, and conveniently adjust them as the project progressed was perfect for our project. That allowed us to easily follow an "agile-like" process with the different stake holders on the project by getting an idea prototyped, iterate on it, and then lock it in for production - without the tediousness of needing super-detailed specifications for each content widget or page. The available APIs were so easy to setup and use, which easily dropped into our development process and tooling.

We really liked that ButterCMS doesn't attempt to get in the way with how we do the front-end/presentation layer, and intentionally stays in its lane by instead providing only a great API to build the UI with. It would be nice if they'd provide a simple way to inject some of our own custom CSS into the WYSIWYG editor within their admin console though, so that our content creators/writers/editors could get a more correct understanding of what the content will look like directly as they're editing it in the CMS.

We needed an API-first approach to content management, as our web site was never going to work with a more traditional CMS. We also knew we had some fairly unique content structure needs, and at the same time we didn't want to have to invest in building the administrative tooling for our content editors to use to manage those custom content records. ButterCMS perfectly solved these problems for us by 1.) giving us a convenient way to build out our unique content model types, 2.) immediately providing a way for our content writers/editors to manage those custom content records that they found intuitive and comfortable with, and 3.) providing a straightforward and highly performant way for our developers to leverage and render the content in our UI via their intuitive APIs.

As a developer at Electric Enjin, one of the most helpful features ButterCMS has to offer is its build-in API Explorer. It's a great feature to have during development as it takes away the need to use other external tools to get data.

ButterCMS blog post feature is inaccessible with their references field for instances where you might want to use a post on other pages besides the blog page itself.

We utilize data collections, the media library, pages, and other features in Butter's multi-site environments. This makes it easy for us as a development agency to manage multiple client sites.

There is nothing that I dislike because ButterCMS is constantly asking for feedback and working to improve the product. The customer support is genuinely better than competitors and their dev team is very in touch with what we need. They handle data migrations whenever we request.

ButterCMS does a great job of being simple to use and even easier to explain to clients. Data collections, pages, and components all allow us to create modern, high quality websites.

ButterCMS makes it really easy to jump right in with any frontend technology of your choice. There's plenty of examples and demo's for each language, and explainer videos for how certain features work within ButterCMS.

ButterCMS has a smaller ecosystem of support since it's a fairly new CMS, but since you can work with any language of your choosing it makes ramp-up a thing of the past.

They offer a lightning-fast headless CMS that pairs well with any frontend language. It allows agencies and brands to build scalable websites, apps, and content hubs using a component-based approach.

I've developed in nearly every legacy CMS from Umbraco to Wordpress and drupal to e-comm specific CMS's like Shopify and Magento... but once you go headless, it is so hard to go back. Before Butter I even dipped my toe in the water with Contentful and other legacy CMS that claim to have headless capability (looking at your Drupal) but I eventually settled on Butter. Butter has one of the cleanest and easy-to-use API's on the market and a good balance between price and functionality, without the bloat of the past (headless drupal). Butter also has SDK's available for a whole host of languages making it even quicker to get to market. While Contentful does have more features at the present time, but it has the cost to come with it. While Butter does cater to larger companies, they are also more accessible in terms of price points than several of their competitors (Contentful included). Update and Improvements are also coming on at a good steady pace.

- It would be nice to have some additional "pages" vs price points across all their plans... contentful offers 25k "objects" even on their free tier. - A plug-in or Marketplace of add-ins would be nice to extend the capability of the CMS on the backend. E.g. SEO plugins, writing assistants, DAM's or Dropbox for asset upload etc. - Would be nice to have proxied DNS for CDN locations for images/assets etc, to improve the appearance and make it easier to re-wrap Butter into API's of our product.

I wish the lowest plan was maybe a little cheaper...

The backend CMS part of it is super robust like Wordpress, with the ability to completely customize your front-end.

I like the simple but attractive user interface of Butter CMS. As a content marketer, Meta description and SEO option in Butter CMS is really very helpful to me. I also like its blog post scheduling, team collaboration, data migration, knowledge base, and collection feature.

Everything in Butter CMS is quite alright to me. But there should have some addons features like analytics and other third-party integration that are needed for blogging and content marketing.

Most of the CMS requires a moderately complicated process to publish a blog post or article. But in Butter CMS, it is easier now. So, this software is saving my time, money, and effort with a great deal. My overall experience is really very superb with Butter CMS.

The best CMS platform we have come across. Easy to use and navigate. Simple API integration. Great language support and super fast technical support team!

We haven't seen anything to dislike with Butter CMS.

Content changes are quick and easy. We can support multiple sites and integrate with our own systems easily and securely.

I like being able to add different sized imagery to the blog giving you freedom to design the look of your blog better. We use butter for our B2C blog and haven't had any issues.

Would be useful to be able to copy and paste pre-linked content without messing up the formatting some times it adds a extra space so have to manually add all the links.

Solved not having to use our valuable tech teams resources to make a custom blog. With the scheduling feature we have saved loads of time and seen our blog views go up.
