I really like Algolia, it is a search engine that gives you results in an incredible way and shows you the possible products you are looking for, according to the configurations you make and thus be able to offer the best user experience.
Nothing bad to add from this tool, but taking into account other programs I think its price is very high.
It is suitable for searching products in an e-commerce, at high speed, just by adding the product information you want, with Algolia we get immediate information about what we are looking for, easily and simply. We really loved how fast the search for Algolia is loaded.
Faceting and speed. Faceting has improved user experience.
Customization limitations on filters, for instance for array. The object index size is a worrying factor, which it should not be.
Moving our search to Algolia has saved a lot of power consumption on our server side.
- Ease of setup - Progressive pricing without hard limits - Speed and relevance of results, even with typos! - Unlimited number of indexes, allowing you to organize your data the way you want - Support is always available to help you configure complex indexes - History of indexer and query performances
- Index settings can be tricky to customize without the help of the support - Not enough tools to explore indexes and manipulate them through the interface - No quick search tool in the dashboard (oh, ironic!) - Step in the pricing is too steep: no 49 to 249$ is a huge step if you overflow your quota of the initial plan...
We don't want to maintain the infrastructure needed to allow our customers to search through their data in our app. Algolia allows us to push data of our users in indexes so they can query Algolia after to get results from anything (entities, invoices, documents...)
The speed, the ease of development, the dashboard.
It is (apart from the speed) quite unsophisticated. The entire model is geared to get you to pay more, more, more; which is a bit sad. Bug reports are countered with "we can only fix that on an enterprise server" (which is $1500+ per month).
We are solving documentation search. It is amazingly fast, which helps with refinement of the search query.
The API was fast, and the admin panel was easy to use.
Pricing is a factor of 10-20x more than Typesnese. Despite the much bigger price, customer service is essentially non-existent. When you have a problem with billing and you get cut off, you are entirely on your own. While the AI/Machine Learning element might seem interesting ours just ended up with a completely unintuitive search where you would type in something expecting a certain result but instead see prioritised, something that was completely irrelevant. The downfall of the AI system is they make it easy to integrate, and you think "great, I'll be leveraging AI", but the reality is a bad experience for your users.
Search
Nothing, it has been a horrendous experience and still continue to take money despite cancelling months ago and trying to contact them multiple times
Their customer service is non existent and have been continuing to take money for months and refuse to answer emails or action what's been requested.
Nothing
Search is good but supports super bad. Support cannot answer about their support code, which is showing in their docs.
Support replies are super bad. My two clients wasted time and money. The search was not live, and algolia charged.
The search is reasonable.
The ease with which we can set up products with nested structure in Algolia is commendable
The syntactical structure to search an item based on a nested property is quite unique and not easy to learn
We are developing product listing feature based on faceted search on our e commerce platform. Algolia provides that feature and it's low latency which fits our requirements
Really fast and powerful Based on number of requests, not items in a requests Filter by multiples filter
Loading state management in react hooks It will go from idle to stale to loading, then go back to idle to stale and loading again without any apparent reason The hooks is quite difficult to understand and implement
Fast search engine Recommendation engine Speed to render items
Algolia allows us to iterate optimizations in our search experience quickly and creates visibility around painpoints our customers might be experiencing.
It can be a bit more costly than managing your own search service on another platform
Algolia is helping improve customers ability to find events or performers that they are searching for. A better search success rate leads to a better user expereince and higher likelihood they purchase on our site or app.
The algolia interface has a very intuitive UX to easily explore data and find out insights which i quickly need to know. The varirity of features is very broad. The customer support could help out quickly when trying to solve problems.
I did not discover any downsides yet, bu i have also only been using it since a couple of months. I heared that there were some implementation issues..
We use algolia for our complex filtering and search mechanisms
Algolia is easy to integrate with and use. I had used it at a previous job and it was simple to set up.
We would like more customability for our search indexes.
At my previous company, we used Algolia to set up search indexes for our search page.
Algolia is the best search tool available there right now. Its API is superfast and is working like a charm. The API is remarkably optimised and integrated seamlessly with our environment setup.
There is nothing to dislike about Algolia. There are some minor issues as they have made their dashboard UI is bit clunky. This resulted in more struggle to understand what e are doing sometimes entirely.
We are building many Ecommerce solutions for the business, and the one particular need with every Ecommerce store is the search functionality. Algoiia is saving us from the headache of creating custom search endpoints. We are utilising the power of Algolia to generate a search API.
- Easy-to-understand documentation - Easy to load data and try out various queries - Great UX on their console
- the analytics APIs were a bit slow - I would prefer to check what the estimated cost is based on current data on that index. When creating new replicas for the sorting feature
Algolia helps our users to search for specific data within our platform. We use it in multiple projects namely nft marketplace, searching streamers, videos and other media content
There are several advantages of using Algolia - 1. Easy to integrate and understand. 2. Provides client side JS library to include and create a boilerplate for performing search on platforms.
Some of the features of Algolia, like dynamic re-ranking and artificial intelligence, are paid. Aloglia also limits the number of records you can index and can become costly very quickly if not used properly.
We index all our documentation text into Algolia and create indices on top of it. We customise the default algorithm provided by Algolia as per our needs. Search results are retrieved quickly.
I like the best part of Algolia is that it integrates with various platforms and frameworks, including popular content management systems (CMS) like WordPress and Shopify.
after all, Algolia is a powerful and reliable search engine as a service that is suitable for a variety of applications and websites. However, it may not be the best fit for projects with a large amount of data or those that require offline functionality
Its fast search capabilities are achieved through a distributed search network and real-time indexing, which helped me in my medium-scale project and for search index, it is beneficial to me.
Following are the best things about Algolia 1) Easy to integrate - as Algolia comes with SDK for multiple languages 2) Search Insight- It also tells about searches that did not have results. 3) Ranking and sorting - You can customize search with different facets 4) Extensive documentation
There is literally nothing I can think of. Algolia fits 100% with our use case and fulfills our all the requirements.
We're using Algoli as a primary internal search engine in one of our projects, And we need Insights into what people are searching for the most. Algolia does an excellent job solving this problem for us and provides us with valuable insights.
We implemented Algolia for an NFP (not-for-profit) organisation among others. With the NFP implementation, we used Algolia for Open Source which allows our client to try out Algolia before moving into more advanced features. We were able to index content from a traditional CMS and provide a fast search and listing service using Algolia's basic features.
The process of attributing Algolia's free open-source plan was interesting. Providing an embeddable piece of HTML and images would have made this process so much easier.
Internal site search, geo-based search and listing categorised pages.
Algolia has an easy to use more than one search page template and provides the needed technical support to help new users set up their Algolia powered search page.
Algolia currently doesn't offer different paid tiers of technical support apart from the user accounts. Some projects require higher level Algolia technical expertise and right now basic users are not able to access that type of help. I trust Algolia for this type of help, and feel uneasy trusting random freelancers with my data and project.
Biomedical data is expansive and giving users rapidly searchable summaries of what is out there is extremely beneficial for my research purposes and those of my platform's global user community.
I like Algolia because I do not even need a database to have a fast search service
Maybe the pricing, but it delivers a lot of value and has a quite robust free tier
Algolia powers our search functionality, and products recommendations as well. The implementation was quite easy and the service works ultra fast
